    Network Specifications

FlexLight’s system provides a revolutionary high bit rate capacity of 2.488 Gbps downstream and 1.244 Gbps
upstream. Large network reach of above 30Km as well as numerous network topologies are supported through
the use of enhanced optical components.

Enhanced Network Capabilities

Fiber protection (Equipment and Fiber)
Network protection (GbE and STM1/OC3)
Use of FEC to improve the link budget thus enabling
greater reach or more splits

    CWDM over PON

Multiple wavelengths transmission allows utilizing the same PON infrastructure for several independent stacked PON networks.
Coarse Wavelength Division Multiplexing (CWDM) defined in ITU-T G.694.2 is a definition of a grid of wavelengths.
CWDM central wavelengths are spaced at a distance of 20 nm starting from 1470nm to 1610nm.
CWDM will deliver more bandwidth to the ONTs over a single fiber. For example, 4 wavelengths PON (2 upstream and 2 downstream) may double the bandwidth allocated to each ONT since each wavelength is shared by fewer ONTs.

    GPON Rings

In a PON based protected Ring, single fiber may be used to connect the ONTs on the ring to the OLT.
The downstream traffic and the upstream traffic are
transmitted on opposite directions on the optical fiber.
